Franco Vigni

 

Professor of Italian language with over twenty years of experience and PhD, he is also a teacher of Film History and Language, journalist (member of the National Association of Journalists) and Film Critic (writing to the National Union of Italian Film Critics).

Franco won the award “Filippo Sacchi” sponsored by the National Syndicate of Film Journalists. He published eight volumes, as a journalist and critic, (including Come onde del mare. Siena e la sua terra nello specchio del cinema, monographs on Andrei Končalovskij Cinema, on Francesca Archibugi and Paolo Sorrentino) and numerous essays - in collective volumes and magazines - the cinema of Andrei Tarkovsky, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Vittorio De Sica, Marco Ferreri, Ken Loach, about the cinema of Aki Kaurismäki, Nanni Moretti, Bertrand Tavernier, Toni Servillo,  about film censorship and the Italian Neorealism. He collaborated on three volumes of the History of Italian Cinema (Marsilio / Ed. Of Black and White).
